Sessions & Tracks : DigiBase : Entering Data for Searches : Search Modes

Search Modes
DigiBase provides two different text searching environments:
Quick Search Mode
Applies wildcards before and after each text string. For example, a Quick search for Dog finds Dogs, dog_bark, and howling_dogs.
Advanced Search Mode
Does not automatically apply any wildcards. Therefore, an Advanced search on Dog finds Big Dog, but not Dogs (unless you manually add a wildcard, as described in Wildcard Characters (* and ?)).
In addition, Advanced Search recognizes word breaks such as underscores and capitalization. For example, an Advanced search on Dog also finds Big_Dog (Big-underscore-Dog) and BigDog, though it would not find BigDogs.
